Dimensions:
White CS- 8 1/2” X 5 1/2”
Watercolor CS- 4” X 6”
& 3/8” X 4 1/4”
Directions:
1. Score white card base in
half(4 1/4”). Place oval die onto the card front about 1/2” from the top edge
and equal distance on the sides. Cut.
2. Place the front of card into
the embossing folder. *Hint- If you have trouble with the paper cracking,
lightly mist the card with water before running it through. Emboss.
3. Using Versamark ink, stamp the
floral arrangement in the upper center of the watercolor CS. Heat emboss using
white embossing powder.
4. Using an ink blending tool,
add distress inks. Blend until entire surface of watercolor paper is covered.
*Hint- I put the green over the leaf areas and lilac over the floral areas.
Using a water brush, go over the inside of each flower and leaf, daubing with a
paper towel as you go. This will leave these areas lighter. Add droplets of
water using the Distress sprayer and dab with paper towel to remove color. When
you are happy with the results. Add splatter with a paint brush using diluted
Shaded Lilac Oxide ink. With the stipple layer stamps, using Lilac & Sage
inks stamp this layer over the previously stamped images. Dry completely.
5. Using Versamark ink, stamp HAPPY BIRTHDAY onto
the 3/8” strip of watercolor CS. Emboss using white embossing powder. Add
Shaded Lilac ink over the entire strip.
6. Fold the
finished watercolor piece at the score line. Mount Scor-tape onto the
underneath side of the flap. Mount this to the inside of card, lining up the
folded score line with the top edge of the card. *Hint- the flap will be on the
back side of the card.
7. Add lilac
ink to small piece of paper, covering it completely. Add glaze to seal in the
color. Die cut butterflies out of the piece.
8. Mount butterflies randomly to the front of
the card. Add shimmer to the butterflies using the Nuvo glitter pen. *Hint-
Whink of Stella glitter pen would give a similar effect.
9. Mount
the greeting strip about 2” up from the bottom of the card. It will go over the
bottom edge of the oval cut out. *Hint- avoid putting any adhesive on the
center of this strip as that will make it stick to the inside of the card.
10. Using
Shaded Lilac ink, stamp the greeting on the inside of the card base.
