Hapy Memorial Day!

It's a wonderful day here in southwestern Minnesota. The air is fresh & a touch cool yet this morning. The skies were clear blue & sunny early. Fluffy clouds have moved in now & the winds (a standard here on the prairie) have picked up. I'm enjoying a relaxing morning. I have plans to work outside in my gardens & yard. I have a huge list of things to do. As usual, my plans are grander than reality will permit. In case of rain, I'll be stamping!

Please take a moment to remember all those who have fought for our freedoms. It's so easy to take for granted all the blessings we have in this country. May you enjoy your Memorial Day holiday!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend

A 3 day weekend..........aaaaah!

I've had very little time to stamp this past week. We're heading to a birthday party for my granddaughter in a short while. I know how much I enjoy looking at new card ideas so I wanted to post at least one card.
I made this first card with a portion of the B Line stamp that we used in the Spring Workshop. The stamp has 2 ladies standing side by side. For this card. I simply framed one of them. I embossed the chipboard mat with a Cuttle Bug embossing folder. Then I added paint with Ranger paint dabbers. The oval was cut with a Spellbinders Nestabilities die.

Next is the card I made for Alyssa who's celebrating her 2nd birthday. Can you tell? I used lots of Ranger Stickles glitter glue & "2s" of embellishments. The papers are from Imaginisce. The 2 was cut with QuicKutz Diesel Grand.

Time for me to get going. I certainly can't miss the party.

Happy Memorial Day weekend!

New papers....

Good afternoon, all!
Today, I'm writing from the store. Kathy & Doreen are putting out new papers from Imaginisce. Imaginisce continues to create wonderful patterns in 2 sided 12 x 12 papers. The papers are wonderful for scrapbook pages as well as cardmaking. "All Kinds of Happy" is a new line of birthday themed papers. "Baby Powder" papers cater to babies, of course, with papers for baby boy or girl. Each line has brads, rub-ons, stickers, flowers and clear stamps to coordinate with them. You can see all the papers at Imaginisce .
If you've been searching all over for the CuttleBug embossing folders, stop at the store. There are numerous designs in stock now. A few new ones are: Birds & Swirls, Swiss Dots, Number Collage, & Diamonds in the Rough. Many of the favorites are back in stock, too: Distressed Stripes, D'vine Swirl & Stylized Flowers. These embossing folders are so easy to use with the Cuttle Bug. The impressions are great to add to card backgrounds, mats & a bit of embellishment. In my last post, the card with the bird & branch uses the "Dotted Swiss" & "D'vine Swirl".
We have new papers by Reminisce, too. Water fun is the theme. Most of the papers are pearlescent & feature bright summery colors. There are matching rub-ons & stickers, too. There's lots of fun stuff to add to your scrapbook pages. Be sure to stop in soon.

Hooray, it's Friday!

Thank goodness it's Friday. I'm looking forward to a great weekend.

I have a couple more sample cards from the store to show you. Doreen created this cute bird card using 2 different Cuttle Bug embossing plates. The texture adds a lot to the card.

The second photo shows 2 cards made with Penny Black stamps. The "happy birthday" was colored with glaze pens. The shine compliments the shine in the background paper. The "birthday girl" card was made by Sally. The Penny Black "girls" are all so cute!

Enjoy the weekend!

A Glorious Spring Day

What a gorgeous day this was. How nice to have crystal blue skies, warm sunshine, only a light breeze & 70 degrees. These days have been rare this spring. I hope the warm temps are finally here to stay.
I went out for a nice long walk after work. I enjoyed the warm temps & lack of wind. Afterwards, I walked through my gardens. Some of the tullips are now blooming. The little irises that I photographed last week as buds are in full bloom. Most of my hostas( I have over 100 different varieties) are poking above the ground. A bright yellow leaved one is almost 3" tall. I took some photos to share.

Now for a few card samples. Isn't this a cute golfer card using A Muse stamps. Even the card & ribbon are from A Muse. There are several bright colors of the ribbon.
This cute card in pink uses Ellzybells stamps. The stamps are such cute, fun images of little girls. They are very popular. Check the store for more fun samples.

For anyone who can't get to the store (I know with the price of gas, we all make our trips anywhere worthwhile), Kathy will mail stamps & supplies. Feel free to call or email the store. Questions or comments are welcome, too. I respond to any comments left on the blog. Check back often.

Think Happy

For anyone who hasn't made a Mom's Day card yet, here's a bright, quick card using Hero Arts stamps. I used the Happy Greetings & Share Laughter clear sets. The inks for the tag are Ranger Bikini Pink, Purple & Popsicle Orange. I added some bright paper flowers & gems, also from Hero Arts. To get the orange gems, use a Sharpie marker to color the clear gems. The dotted notecard & ribbon are from Amuse.
This card design could easily be made with many of the other greetings in the Happy Greetings set: Happy Spring, Happy Everything, Happy Summer or Happy Happy. The little flower used on the tag & magenta square is also part of the set. There's even a tiny butterfly & star.
Happy day!

Spring

This evening, I took my camera outdoors to capture bits of Spring color. I found a few early flowers. The fresh sprouts have such wonderful color. So today, I'm posting Nature's creation as found in my gardens. Enjoy!

What a glorious May day! We've been waiting for a day like this all spring. I hope you got out to enjoy the sunshine & warm air. I spent several hours working in one of my flower beds. I collected the debris from last year & then worked up the soil. There were a number of dandelions that needed to be removed, too! My back is letting me know that I did a lot more bending than usual.

Did you celebrate National Scrapbooking day on Saturday? It was a great day to get over to Fond Memories & do the Make & Takes.

I found a little time to stamp this afternoon. Here's a Mother's Day card using two of the new clear stamp sets from Paper Inspirations.

I used Spellbinders Nestabilities oval dies to cut the chipboard & mat for "Mom". The chipboard is painted with Tattered Rose Distress Crackle paint. I used the Espresso Paint Dabber to apply paint to the "Mom"stamp from the Mother Collage set. The paint is more opaque than any ink would be especially over the Distress paint.(Tip: Clean the stamp immediately so the paint doesn't dry on it.) The scalloped mat is cut out of copper moire paper & embossed. The lace pattern across the light pink card is stamped with one of the lace designs from Ornamental Borders 2 by Paper Inspirations. I stamped it with Distress Antique Linen ink & embossed it with clear. Then I applied some color to the center of the lace using Cut N Dry Foam to pick up ink from a Distress Tattered Rose pad. I tied sheer copper ribbon around the card & fastened the "Mom" oval with foam tape. Celebrate Mom next Sunday!

Check out the other clear stamp sets by Paper Inspirations at the store.
