Bird Watching

If you are anything like me, it's a struggle to come up with cards for the men in our lives.
This was a very simple card that I put together using a stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms called Bird Watching. The plaid paper is from My Minds Eye and the ink I used was Distress Brushed Corduroy. Adding a ribbon tied in a knot to the bottom of the card adds the finishing touch.
I hope you all have a happy and safe end to 2008,
Doreen

May the spirit of Christmas...

Created by Doreen Osland

bring joy to your heart & happiness to your home

We are having alot of fun designing with these Thomas Kinkade stamps. I must admit when I first saw them, I thought they were beautiful but didn't really know what I would do with them. As it turns out, they couldn't be easier.
On this card, I used The Night Before Christmas. I stamped the image on white paper using Versafine Olympia Green ink. Then I added yellow colored pencil to the windows. I finished the image off with some stickles(diamond) glitter glue, adding it to the trees and to the roof of the house. The papers I used were Wassail by Basicgrey.
I hope you will give these stamps a try.
Have some fun & enjoy your life,
Doreen

Bits & Pieces

Did you follow the 12 Tags of Christmas on Tim Holtz' blog?
I even got up early a few mornings just so I could see his newest tag before I went to work. I've been wanting to try some of the techniques but I'm way too busy right now.
The Fragments just came in today. Tim used these on Tag 3 and 11. All 3 styles are in stock: ovals & rounds; squares & rectangles; tags with tab & hole.
Fond Memories also has a few sets of the Holiday Grungeboard. Tim used pieces from this set on Tags 5, 7, 8. He used the plain Grungeboard to stamp the deer & cut it out on Tag 10 - a technique to use with any of your favorite stamps.
Have you seen the metallic & white Crackle paints? Three of the colors are in stock now: Tarnished Brass, Antiqued Bronze, Picket Fence (white). Brushed Pewter is on back order.
Doreen & I plan to post card samples through the holidays whenever we have time. We may not write much. After all, a photo is worth a 1000 words.

Thank you from all of us at Fond Memories to all our loyal customers! We truly appreciate your business. We wish you all a wonderful Christmas!

Happy Birthday Dad!

I created this card for my father for his 76th birthday. Not your typical birthday card but my father is very proud to be an American veteran. So this was perfect for him.
I stamped Thomas Kinkade's Hometown Pride stamp using Versafine black ink onto white paper. Then I colored the flag using Faded Jeans and Fired Brick Distress inks. I sponged on black ink around the edges and mounted this onto a piece of black card stock. I ran a piece of red Core'dinations paper through the Cuttlebug using the Argyle embossing folder. The blue mat is also Core'dinations paper with distressed edges.
A BIG THANKS to all of you veterans out there!!

Skater's Pond II

Another card with the same stamps -Thomas Kinkade Skater's Pond & Christmas Expressions greeting - as the card posted yesterday......
....only a totally different look because of different papers & colors.
The Skater's Pond was stamped on a kraft colored paper with Versafine black ink. I added a touch of color to the pond, sky & windows with Copic markers. Frosted Lace Stickles adds sparkle to the snowy areas yet not a lot of glitter. The image is matted on black & pale yellow. The snowflake paper is from My Mind's Eye. A cream & black check ribbon finishes off the design.
Happy stamping!

Season's Greetings

Another beautiful stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms Thomas Kinkade series called the Skater's Pond.

This image is simply stamped with StazOn black ink on white glossy paper. Yes, it's simple! The antique color is achieved with Antique Linen & Vintage Photo Distress inks. I used one of the Curved Rectangles Spellbinders dies to create the curved ends on the mat. The background paper is actually from Cosmo Crickets Halloween line called Haunted: Ominous. I distressed it a bit.....of course. The ribbon was black & cream. I colored it with Fired Brick & Spiced Marmalade Distress inks to match the mat. "Season's Greetings" is from the CHF Christmas Expressions stamp set. The card is 5" x 6 1/2".

I have another card made with the same stamps that I'll post tonight.......a totally different look.

Keep stamping......enjoy!
