Copic Markers

We've had numerous questions about Copic markers.....

I started using them a couple months ago. I love the assortment of colors & the blending capabilities! Lots of paper crafters are using them now. If you follow any blogs or card making websites, you're bound to find them mentionned.

So........does Fond Memories carry Copic markers? Soon!
We ordered them at CHA. We're not sure how long before they arrive. These markers come from Japan. It's typically a 6-8 week wait for delivery.

Copic markers are alcohol based (actually ethanol). Unlike water based markers, the colors can be blended easily. All Copic markers are refillable and the tips are replaceable. There are several different styles: Original, Sketch & Ciao. The Sketch & Ciao are the most popular for paper crafts. The Sketch marker comes in 322 colors.....a bit mind boggling if you're trying to choose what colors to buy! Although the Ciao has exactly the same tips at the Sketch, it comes in fewer colors, has less ink per marker and costs less.

Copic has put together several sets of markers called Papercrafting sets in both Sketch & Ciao. These sets include a nice range of colors for anyone using them for scrapbooking, stamping, etc. There are sets of 12 (Bright, Earth, Pastel), 36 and 72.
Fond Memories will special order any of the Papercrafting sets at 25% off. A great savings!
Feel free to call, email or stop in with any questions.

A Tiny Bouquet

Today, I stamped this tiny bouquet during my lunch break. The stamps are from a new little set called Long Stemmed Sentiments by Technique Tuesday. The flowers are separate from the vase but it was so easy to align them with the clear stamps. The set includes 2 other stem groupings, one with leaves and the other looks like pussy willow stems as well as two little birds, separate flowers & leaves plus 5 sentiments. I used Copic markers to color it but it could just as easily be colored with watercolors, Tombow markers, Spica pens or colored pencils. I added a tiny bit of Stardust Stickles, too.
Enjoy!

Paper, Paper, Paper

Kathy says we are overflowing with new papers! We got a little carried away ordering paper at CHA! Be sure to stop in to check out the new lines from:
Imaginisce
My Mind's Eye
It Takes Two
Bazzill
I used a some of the new paper from Imaginisce for the card on my blog today. There's also a really cute Princess collection.....so cute for a little girls. Another collection is for summer & going to the beach. The collection I used is bright & bold & flowery.
We ordered several full collections of paper from My Mind's Eye. They just came in today. I remember liking them when we ordered........I can't remember them exactly.
The It Takes Two paper is all themed: baptism, confirmation, etc.
Bazzill has new embossed paper! There are some great patterns. The Dotted Swiss collection also came in. It's all 12 x12 with a nice selection of colors.
I probably missed some details so be sure to check out the new papers next you get to FM.

Tulip with Butterflies

What a pretty, fresh card for Spring!

- created by Mary Jo -

The tulip stamp is from Cornish Heritage Farms. Spellbinders dies were used for the scalloped edge on the tulip image and the green mat, "thinking of you" oval and the butterflies. The butterflies are cut from vellum....so pretty & delicate.

A nice fresh, spring card to pull us out of the winter doldrums!

Enjoy!

Happiness

Here's a card made with the Cornish Heritage Farms January Stamp of the Month. I stamped it with Memento Bamboo Leaves & colored the flowers with Copic markers. I added a little Antique Linen Distress ink around the edges. The scalloped edge mat is vellum punched with a Fiskars punch. I added some piercing to make it look more like lace. The little ribbon is silk which makes such soft bows.
